Hey, I’m Artem, visual artist & designer

I love making things. Real, physical things: stickers, custom sketchbooks, paintings. The kind of ideas that live in my head until I get them out.

For ten years I worked as a designer. Brand identities, graphic design, motion graphics, websites – clean grids, the right typeface, the happy clients etc. All fine. For the last few years I was stamping out designs on a subscription model, literally like a robot. And it slowly drained everything I liked about the work.

At some point I realised I needed a place with no brief and no client. So I started painting. No revisions. Nobody asking to make the logo bigger, or the shadow just a bit softer.

So this isn't a side hobby – it's the next step. The design years didn't go anywhere; they're in the composition, in how I think about colour, in knowing when something is finished. But the paintings come from a different place. They're thick, textured, loud in pink and blue, and most of them are looking at you.

I create my work in Vienna now, but I'm originally from Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine.
